I am new to BYC and to chickens in general and from what I have read on here FBCM are hard to sex. So I thought I might get some help. I bought 12 FCBM chicks at 2 weeks old Memorial Day and we concluded 4 roos but know I think 5 and I just wanted to know if I am looking at the right things. My roos have much fewer feathers, but more color in the feathers they have ie green and one with all copper down his neck. They are in general bigger than the girls, bigger and redder combs but other than that and my newbie eye I am clueless. Any guesses welcome
First this is basically what I think the pullets are looking like. Smaller combs no color really and all black feathers with some flashes of copper all over if at all.
This guy in the center is one I really think is a roo. He has tons of copper on his neck but very few feathers. Other than the copper the other roos look like him. I named him "red neck" he is the only chicken I have with a name
Another pullet???

So far I love the Marans and my EE. One of the boy's is very friendly and wants to come over and visit and will let me pet him without running. I hope since I got these guys so young they will be accustomed to being handled more than my bigger chickens. BTW I can have all the roos I want so no big deal.
If anyone can tell me something I have not been able to find, how much feathering is normal on the legs? I seem to have all types heavy to almost none and I don't plan on showing but what would be considered normal. I like the looks of the heavy feathers but if I breed to sell what sells better? Any advice is welcomed.
