The three oldest are 4 weeks and the blue baby is 3 weeks now. I think the black one that is feathering fastest of all, contrary to what most Orp males do, is a cockerel. Alas, Venus may not be Venus after all. The first three pictures are Venus (or Vasilios, or whatever other Greek male name starts with "V").
Usually, my BBS Orp males are almost bare-backed at this age, not feathering faster than the girls, but I swear, I think the wattles are turning pink. It was, however, the
other black chick with the larger comb who crowed in the brooder. And Zeus is turning out to be a Zena, that big round tennis ball with a beak is looking like a big old girl now! This is a topsy turvy year, though, so males could feather like females, females could crow, pigs could fly, whatever happens wouldn't shock me a bit.
So, what do you think?
