This color is dun on an extended black base (EE), which basically works the same way as blue, as in 0 doses of dun make black, 1 dose makes dun, and 2 doses makes khaki (much like blue, black, splash). In these line of birds, Phoenix were bred with dun Sumatras many generations back to get the dun coloring. As far as I know this coloration is typically only found in Sumatras, but I'm sure there are other breeds that have it!
