I used 2- 8' pallets and 2- 4' pallets. The 8' provided the frame which is 4' x 8' (make 2 of them) and I used the spalls (cross pcs) from both the 8' and 4' pallets to do the siding all the way around the hen house part. The runners of the 4' pallets made my roof trusses.
After a few months, this has proven to be a pretty decent coop for smaller birds- it is easy to check eggs (box added after pix where the shutter is in the pix) and clean out goes well- I lift the nesting box off the back and use a push broom to push out wood chips, add new chips through the same opening. The old chips go into the "yard" where they are kicked out within a day or two by the chooks.
