Four new pullets, all of different breeds I didn't have yet! One New Hampshire Red, one Barred Rock, one golden sexlink, and one Australorp. Here they are in their new 2x4 coop. Their roost has inner tube wrapped around it too.

Early 2015: The coop is done, the hens are moved in! Still working on enclosing the chicken yard with 6-8 ft high fences/trellises. Here one part is still a make-shift curtain.

Here are Deedee and her girlfriends. There's Beatrix, an orange eater egger, Phyllis, a black star/black sexlink, and Marilyn, a white leghorn with a huge comb that covers her right eye completely. I got breeds that lay different color eggs so that I would be able to tell who laid what eggs. That has been fun!

I had had this great old door for a few years, also a free Craigslist find. It became the door to the chicken yard.

Here I am building a new 4x4 coop, above the 4x4 run I had gotten from Craigslist. The coop was going to connect to the 8x4 run (also free, from Craigslist), which I placed next to the 4x4 one. The two free runs did need quite a bit of repair, and paint.

Deedee's Inn was built by me, Crazy Chicken Lady! It all started when a kindergarten teacher asked who would take her three classroom chicks at the end of the school year in June 2014. I said I would, not knowing a thing about chickens. I built the Inn of almost all re-used materials, and it has been a fun ongoing project since summer 2014.
