Question about Marans...
You see that rooster in the show cage and then the bird in the photo after it in front of a shovel?
What would you consider more correct colorwise?

@AMERAUCANAS4REAL you mean Broiler? He's got straw-colored hackles, and his tail is way too big and too high. I thought he was awesome once upon a time, but now I've seen better.

@Fanci Feathers Marans so you would suggest a bird with more red colored hackles? Oh. I just hunted down the standard to see it called for copper colored hackles (neither straw nor mahogany) some with a narrow dark stripe. Thanks for the help. I like to understand what to look for in all breeds and varieties.
