Our new view of our chickens. Wheel is removed and that problem area will be fixed before we move it again (3 or 4 weeks). Chickens quite happy with new location of lots of weeds and bugs to explore. The bare spot in front is where the coop was, and we are getting ready to put grass fertilizer down (10/10/10). Hope this gives you ideas.

This is what the ground looks like after being parked for 6 months (October - March). The ground is covered with straw and sand we gave them for bathing.

Disaster strikes!! The wheel gives out and the board holding it cracks! This is the large run, heavier than the shorter run. Highly recommend a better wheel situation here. Will replace 2X4 with uni-strut like on the short run.

Entry way installed and the jack on the back of the coop is lowered to hold it in place. Then we lower the wheels and it is in place.

We line up the entry way to reinstall the run. Since it is not that heavy weight, we can pick up the end fairy easy to square it/ line it up.

Have the back held up by lifting the 12" of extra screen (predator/ no digging) and placing it on two screws that are permanently there for this reason.

At this point, the chickens are trapped in the small area under the coop and we catch them and lock them in their coop. Two ran in by themselves and three had to be caught. They haven't had too bad a day because they probably got about 100 bugs from under the things we removed that was in their runs.

We insert the original doorway so the chickens can't escape. We are really not going to attach this because we will have the chickens in the coop before we move.

This fits the entry way to the run (hinges to attach permanently). We are only using it today because it is later in the day, and the chickens are loose in the area under the coop and the other run. Usually when we move the coop and runs we do it early in the morning - we leave the chickens locked in the coop and let them out after it is moved. So we would not need this piece then.

We inserted a jack under the metal support attached to the coop so we can raise the coop up so it is not sitting on the entry way to the run and we can pull it out.

Tractor coop with two runs (UPDATED 4/9/16)

We replaced the wheels of our runs with 1,500 lb. capacity Swing-Back Boat Trailer Jack with Dual Wheel purchased from Harbor Freight (they go on sale now and then) and it has made a tremendous difference! They have handles that you can turn to raise the coop, and once the wheel is below the bottom of the run, they can turn in any direction. Now it is super easy to move the runs. Highly suggest this to anyone wanting a easy way to move your runs.
