What kind of lizard is that?
Did you have to remove it from your yard?
I think it's just a bluey bobtail lizard or whatever. A lot of them cross the roads where I live and get flattened. I generally just drive around them but I was feeling sorry for it so I threw it in the car and released it in some shrublands.

I live in the PNW
We don’t get any wild lizards up here other than alligator lizards and the extremely rare (up here) western fence lizard (the quick lil dudes w the blue sides to their bellies on the males...)

But we do have
- lots of garter / gardener snakes
- really no “bad” / poisonous snakes
- and my personal favorite- rubber boas 🥰

Along with many amphibians. Frogs and salamanders.

The clear running rivers that are great to raft and full of fish, safe to swim lakes, along with the general lack of ticks, and the mosquitos and yellowjackets being the “biggest” “problem”..........

It makes the crazies around here a bit more easy to ignore...

We just stick to the deep woods and pretend that the cities don’t exist as well as we can 😂

I sorta grew up in the country and would alternate between country and capitol during my youth. I've seen a lot of snakes in the country. Even captured a littler tiger snake when I was young, then my brother and cousin got involved and we had to let it out at the lake. Was a feisty customer. I thank my lucky stars I have never come across the Western Taipan as they are snakes of great evil.

Said brother had a friend that was chased on his bike by a snake once and I wonder if it was one of those. I know an inland coastal taipan killed off a worker in remote QLD recently. I don't mind the city but I can see myself moving back country. Got one of the nosiest neighbors out to the point she puts her ladder on the fence and talks from that position.

Your little paradise sounds nice. I've got wasps galore in my backyard, they are more attracted to steel than bikies are.
