It was 113 by the coop, brought the girls inside they were mouth open and suffering...so for a few days, they have air condiioned room to roam in and around...food, water, treats...and lots of vistis from us...Bandit even wanted me to hold her...amazing...The girls Thelma 20 weeks, Bandit and Sprekles 6 weeks, all are together in one area, and getting on great!...heard a squabble, went to check, not sure but I think just a pecking order going on...they all seem great!... when it cools down to 100 they can go back to the coop/run...I water down the entire area, give ice water, ice bottles to cuddle up to treats, frozen and not...melons...Thelma wanted to go home to her roost last night...so did that and brought her back into the house this am....I do not worry about the cold, they have a place that is warm, but 113 is just too hot, even for a chicken!

We are still having hot weather, over 100 degrees, the girls have been put together and they are living together peacefully...Thelma is now 22 weeks old...should get eggs soon...The chicks are now 8 weeks old and Spreckles is sooooo agressive...Bandit is a gentle soul...she is now roosting with Thelma at night...Spreckles stays below...but Im sure she will get the idea soon...they love love love the frozen water mellon and cantaloupes...all are doing GREAT! They are just so much fun!
