Thanks for looking & asking! Yes, this is an adult male turkey—a Tom. Mature Toms sport luxuriant “beards” on their breasts. It is one great way to identify a mature Tom from an immature “Jake” from a hen.
@CochinCuddlr We have wild turkeys here, and earlier this year a man turkey was in peacock mode with all of his feathers out. Sure enough a lady turkey was nearby, and now she has two offspring turkeys we had fun watching grow up. I don't remember seeing a beard on him. Maybe he shaved it off?
