The Dust Box. A simple wooden slat box, filled with Diatomaceous Earth and Sand. The chickens love to take dust baths in it to control parasites.
Finished Run and Hutch. Note Dust Box in foreground for diatomaceous earth dust baths. The chckens will sit in it for hours dusting themselves.
Our new flock addition: three black sex links. They're about 2 months old and growing second set of feathers now. They have been quarantined for last two weeks and in another couple of weeks, we will move them within sight and smell of three adults to get the integration started. We are hoping that being younger birds, they will be easier to integrate to the existing flock. We intend to wait until they almost as big as the adults to let them mix physically iin the run and coop.

A first intro to their new home, the girls took the 50 cent tour before settling down. It took a few days for them to start using the ramp and nesting in the boxes.
Linoleum floor finishes the interior for easy cleaning.
