This is the completed coop with the enclosed pen. They have access to the enclosed part all the time and will be outside in the fenced part during the day.
I took an old shutter I had and cut in half to make ramps for the chickens. All the hinges and the bolt locks and door knob were reused from other projects and demo sites.
With the leaves this fall I will put them over chicken wire apron to discourage any predators from digging in.
The pen is enclosed on all sides and has hardware cloth buried underneath.
All the framework for the fence came from pallets that used to hold hot tubs, all 2x3s for free and I made the posts out of rough sawn pine and weatherproofed them. The rolled asphalt roof was left over from an ice shanty I made.
I had leftover conduit from when I ran the electric fence for my garden, all I needed to purchase was the junction box.
