This was a crate I was given from a customer of mine, a piece of tin from a blown over carport and some staples. I was having a hard time keeping feed from getting kicked out of the feeder I had. So I made this.
Actually, this look's like a pretty good idea that you came up with! The only thing is that my chicken's would most likely get on top of it, so the top would have to be reinforced under the metal to hold the weight so it wouldn't sag?
@BlueBaby My turkey hens have been on top. I think its the two bends that make it rigid. But you could always add a little something like a 3rd brace (like the outside) in the center, or a support length wise, if you needed. I'll take another pic when I go out and feed. I made a second one for the turkeys with a wider opening and put it on some cinder blocks.
