This is why they free range only with supervision! They're still pretty cautious about venturing far from the run, but hopping up into a tree? No problem. The slant makes it like a ladder. I'm gonna keep my eye on this one.

Killing what's left of the herbs in this herb pot . Oh well, I've been wanting to start over.

Grass! They finally made their way to the grass last night. Penny, on the left, had a little taste. Janet, our older girl, just stood on the railroad tie that we just brought home. I guess she thought it was her personal roost.

Earning their keep! Munching on evil Bermuda grass that's growing in the patio crack.

Look behind you! Grass! The wind gusts came up, ruffling their feathers, but they enjoyed their time outside the run. With our own dogs and dogs on the other side of the fences, along with various hawks that frequent the neighborhood, we're only going to free range them under supervision. Their run is pretty big for just a couple girls, but after a couple months, it's time for them to spread their wings. Hoping they discover the grass tonight. Lots of worms, bugs and, well, grass.

They haven't made their way to the grass yet. We've let them out twice this week, so it's still very new to them and they're cautious. They're not going to find much to nibble on, though, if they stay on the patio.
