New Year's Day Mom meets the new kids. Our hatch - little yellow - takes off on her own. At this point mom could try to kill them or accept them. She accepts them and begins to talk with them, calling them over to find some food. She calls them then teaches them how to get it...breaking up the larger pieces and dropping them for the kids. Sometimes they take it from her beak. These kids were hatched in an incubator and have been under a brood light the last 3 days...they've never had a real mom and they all act like they know exactly what to do.
