First night in the new coop! We waited until they were roosting for almost an hour in the old coop before we moved them over one at a time. Overall went really smooth. Now they are in lock down for a few days so they get all nested in so to speak.
Recycled a vinyl billboard to cover the wood floor. Should work better than paint and its free! For now we are covering it with pine shavings but the plan is to switch to sand by this spring.
A friend just built a 3,500sq ft house and had a bunch of fiber cement siding left over. Doing a little trading, I am going to frame in a room for him in his garage and the siding is all mine!

The rest of the rafters are on, as is the metal roof. Inside all the nailers for the trim and siding are also in place. I had just enough scrap plywood to sheet the back wall. Now making good use of an old vinyl billboard before we put up the siding. That will work as insulation and help keep any draft out. You can see where I extended the roof in the back corner. That will keep some of the rain out of the chicken door.
Here you can see the straps I used to lift one end of the roof onto the ceiling joists.
Here we begin to see what it will look like. The center section on top will be used to store hay for the winter.
