Side door and facia (spelling) board got on today. Still no cost for supplies by using the scrap lumber. I already had the screws and nails. But a little cost for a lb of each since they had to be bought at some point. I used mostly decking screws and some wood screws and few 16 penny nails.

I had to make a new brooder box since they're getting bigger. We came in the house and the rooster was out of the box yesterday. He's the biggest and trying to roost on the feeder so I put a stick inside that maybe they can get on

Side door. We used a Rigid conduit clamp for the handle. I plan on getting the locking arms for a support when raised. The door is a scrap piece of exterior siding.

We used the treated landscaping timbers for the legs and around those are treated 2x6's to form the floor. To bring up the walls we used 2x4's which were not treated but I plan on putting a sealer over the whole coop. For the rafters we ripped a 12" board to make some 2x8's which worked very nicely and will give a good base for the roof.

Well...change of plans! Looks like we will be moving into a house beside my parents. Which will be awesome because we'll have more room. So we started to build a movable chicken coop out of scrap lumber, still low budget style with landscaping post that were laying around. For framing, our Church is building a new building and had a lot of scrap lumber treated and non treated. My Dad helped In the building process and so the coop began!

Just got some Barred Rocks. They will go inside of a different coop that's smaller. Havnt started it just yet
