The Alpine Garden is a broad plateau, high above treeline on the eastern shoulder of Mt. Washington. The higher you go up the mountain the smaller the trees become.

Mt. Washington is the jewel of all the presidential peaks. It stares down on all the other mountains of New Hampshire. It's summit is 6300 ft. high, it's often scowded in clouds. It can be a dangerous place to hikers in fact more people have died on Mt. Washington than on K2 . Hikers are drawn 2 Mt. Washington by the challenges of the climb, the satisfaction of having done it and the natural beauty of the area. The flowers up there are robust, tiny and very unusual. If you ever have a have a chance to experience to do it , I hope you do! Cuz there's nothing like it!
