The chickens are so funny, today I took all the broken and dried up leaves out of the run.
Then I thought what else can I put in there. Hmmm, the dried pine needles that are sitting on the driveway (I never got around to raking them up).
Well who would of thought, that dried pine needles would be so much fun for the chickens.
They couldn't wait to get in there and start scratching away.

Mmmmm Fermented Feed, lets pick out the BOSS first.

Replaced the dried broken up leaves with dried pine needles. They were having so much fun I couldn't resist throwing in some BOSS (black oiled sunflower seeds) for them to search for.

The chicken coop is in one of the horses winter paddocks
For this winter I put up a temporary electric fence to keep the horses away from the coop & run.
I'll see how I like the set up and then next year I will install a more permanent electric fence

It's nice to see the chickens finally using the tree ladder I made

I was doing a little remodelling in the run. Took the cedars out of the planters and planted them, also put in a couple more tree logs for perching on.
