I am happy with how the gate turned out. I had to add a cement barrier at the bottom after three of the chicks squeezed out. I figured if they could get out, something else could get in.

I used a wood border to keep the sand in.
The concrete works well.
I decided to use conduit to build the frame for the run. The pipe and wire is set in 6 inches of concrete.
