We've learned so much from this site and have taken some of the ideas we liked best and incorporated them into our coop. Here you can see a few of them; holes between each box and curtains on the top row. Yes I said curtains. Made from some old blue jeans, they will offer our hens both privacy and a stylish box that says "Yes, yes they are skinny jeans".
Here you can see where the water system come in from the back wall, turns and goes out the front. We put a small wooden box on the floor near the front wall so the bantams can reach the drippers inside.
Here you can see our watering system. Fill it outside, it runs inside then back out. There are 6 drippers inside and 6 outside. We even made a lower section for the bantams. We put a removable cap at the lowest point so we can clean it out. The whole system hold about 8 gallons.
It took three bags of pine shavings to cover the floor about 3" deep. As I mentioned, we are switching to sand by this spring. I can see already there will be eggs buried in this stuff.

Here you can see the anchor in action. The bottom door has chains on it so we can set the egg basket on it. Still need to build a platform under it to make it easier for some of the shorter egg collectors to reach the top row, lol.

First night in the new coop! We waited until they were roosting for almost an hour in the old coop before we moved them over one at a time. Overall went really smooth. Now they are in lock down for a few days so they get all nested in so to speak.
