Thank you, I did post there first, but no response. I found a vet who was able to "prescribe" some 5% Permethrin. Unfortunately I live behind the Canadian iron curtain... everything is contraban.
I have seen .5% as a dilution ratio using permethrin 10% (200 ml in 1gal)
If the desired rate is .5% and I am starting with 5%
Am I right to go with 200 ml in 1/2 gal?
Hi all. I need some help with lice treatment. I was able to pick up some Boss Pour-on (5% Permethrin) to treat my flock after discovering wing lice. I've been reading posts here about diluting and spraying but I am not sure about the dilution ratio. Also I have 2 chicks that are 8 days old...
Are there any Canadians who have found a product/ source for treating feather lice in chickens that is readily available? It is unfortunate that we have such difficulty getting some of the products that are readily available elsewhere to treat simple chicken problems. I have heard that there...
Precisely! I recommend you all look up 5th generation (5G) warfare. It is real. It is about disorienting people using all means of media available. With today's technology (AI generators in particular) you can easily produce content that appears real and authentic in a few moments.

Hi all British Columbia here. I have just discovered feather lice on my chicks, and will need to treat a flock of 23 (mostly adults)
Can you get permethrin in Canada? If not what have any of you used effectively, and where did you get it?
Thanks in advance.
I'm sorry to hear this. I had a broody sitting on 4 eggs. 1 hatched on day 21, & 1 hatched on day 22. I left the other 2 under her, bbut removed them on day 25 so she could focus on the 2 chicks.
Is it possible for you to purchase a few day old chicks to slip under her when you remove the...
Do you have a rooster? I can't recall where mine was at that time, probably with the larger group further away. My roo died, an now I have a pretty decent cockerel (he's about 10 months old). When he gives the alert I immediately assess the threat and where my birds all are.
Thanks Nat. The order of the images got mixed up, but I see you were able to figure it out. I got a good look at Beatrice close up, and she does not have the saddle feathers like Victor. She's also much smaller.
So now I have 1 pullet - Beatrice, and 3 cockerels. Poor Bea. My first brood was 1:5 and I had to cull all 5 boys, leaving Gracie a solo youngster in a mature flock. Gracie is still a bit of loner at 2 1/2 yrs old. I hope to keep one of the 3 boys. Leo is a definite no due to aggression...
