The problem with all the post I seen were people having problems, then the posts would stop. I rarely could find anyone posting the final solution to the chickens problem. So i decided to post my whole experience I had from start to end in one post.
So I figugered out she had Gapeworm and...
About a week before my Buff started to lay she would squat down in the coop when I walked in.
My big EE did that today so i am hoping she will start soon she is 24 weeks now.
Mine are 23 weeks and no eggs.
My single Buff laid her first egg today, about 26 weeks or so. I noticed with her that she would do the long bawk baaawk song all day long starting about two weeks ago. I just noticed that she will squat down when I come in the coop, that started about a week...
I got my first today. She is a Buff maybe 25 to 26 weeks old. Its is a small brown egg. I am waiting so patiently for my easter eggers to start! They are 23 weeks and all they want are treats.
I got a green egg today, my big Brown Easter Egger Chirpy laid it today. 24 weeks.
About the 20th she seemed to take a trun for the worse, now the 24th she is clearly not doing well. I'm going to guess it may be two different problems, maybe she has Meraks and maybe egg bound happened during this.
The good news is her sister laid the first egg of my flock today!
I am having a problem with a Buff mix hen about 23 to 25 weeks old. She hasn't laid yet and seems kind of like egg bound. It started out about a week ago now with her walking like she hurt her leg. Then it progressed to barely walking and falling down. Then I found her upside down. Now she falls...
One of my hens is doing something similar, I posted it here too. she limps around, but I guess you could say straight legged but seems at least in the begging like one leg and one wing. She falls over on her back now and can't get up. she eats and seems alert. just really odd. I have seen her...
I have a about 22 week old Buff mix that is having trouble. I first noticed it about 5 days ago that she kind of limped around a bit favoring the left leg. My son said it looked like her head was swollen a bit on one side, but looks normal now. Then I noticed she doesn't flap her left wing and...
My EE's are now 19 weeks and I think I have 2 buff mix and they are about 21 or 22 weeks and still no eggs. They don't sit in the boxes or nothing. The weather is getting nicer and I keep hoping they will start.
My hens did a little playing when they were young. They would also run around and crah into each other and make a lot of noise. At 16 weeks they chase each other around the pen all the time. Stand up face to face and stare at each other. They don't seem to be fighting, rarely they peck each other.
Less light in winter means there's less food so less eggs. I'm not so sure its a resting period just a built in winter survival deal. My 17 week old EE's get in the boxes sometimes. I also have about 20 week old buff cross and they get in there too. But no eggs yet.
Well mine are now 13 weeks and they all look like hens, so I'm good! I picked up 2 mystery chicks and was suspious of them. They almost looked like they had small spot where they should have spurs. However after more than a month they still look the same at about 17 weeks.
