Thank you so much! That is very helpful. I was wondering what was meant by "younger ducklings". Mine are two weeks. Does this mean they should be recover within a few days? I'll continue to give niacin, I was just hoping for a timeline.
I have a two week Cayuga who started showing signs of niacin deficiency yesterday. His legs are pointed inwards and he keeps rocking back and forth. Is this irreversible? I am getting niacin today and will administer it ASAP. I'll post pics in a second.
I wish. The issue is he is away at school and is very busy. I don't know his family all that well and there is pretty extensive damage. I have to move out my birds in the next few weeks and I just don't think we could get it done by then.
I have quite a variety. 3 Leghorn pullets, 3 Wyandotte pullets, 5 Cornish X's, some FBCM's, Lavender Orpingtons, Ayam Cemani's, Bielefelders, and Silver Leghorns. I also have 10 ducklings. All in all probably somewhere between 30-35 birds
They were supposed to stay at a friend's house but the...
My coop arrangement fell through and now all the birds I bought from the hatchery and all the birds I hatched out have to go. This sucks. I became so attached to them but my parents won't let me have them here at my house.
I had about 9 Ayam Cemani, 9 Lavender Orpington, and 4 Silver Appleyards eggs in the incubator, but left the lid off for a couple hours due to stupidity 🤦♂️. I have to wait to see if I killed them. To think they were going into lockdown in just two days...
Thanks. I’d like to say this will never happen again but knowing myself, it probably will.
Phew. Hopefully the hatch. It’s taking everything for me to not open it up and candle them now to look for movement but I know that’ll just make things worse. Should I still put them in lockdown on day 18...
Pure stupidity. I had to bring some eggs ready to hatch out to my garage and noticed the duck brooder was a mess. Cleaned that out then one thing led to another and I didn’t go back into my room until I went to bed and noticed the lid was off
