So it's been a long time since started thread. Blackie is a rooster and now lives on an organic farm and is charge of a huge flock. He's awesome!!! We go visit him often. yes. I just stapled sheets to ventilation areas of coop so that they will be safe tonight. Also spoke to a chicken farmer who said to keep them in coop until noon tomorrow...the chemical should burn off by then from sun. I won't eat eggs for a week just to be safe. AERIAL SPRAYING FOR WEST NILE in DALLAS! Are our chickens safe?
I am really concerned because friday night in dallas they are doing an aerial spray for west nile. Are our chicken's safe in coop at night? They have open ventilation I thought we would cover with sheets but what I am worried about the next morning and the yard they roam around in, mostly gravel...- 2mefarm

Pea gravel outdoor flooring for the run - good or bad?
we have sand in our closed coop area and it is super easy to clean up with a kitty litter shovel a few times a week. and pea gravel all around 20X20 area outside of coop and my husband just hoses it all down once a week so poop drains to bottom of gravel, again SUPER EASY!- 2mefarm

This is Ci-Ci. Ci-Ci is about 17 weeks old and a sweet Hen. She has not been her normal self....She has been lethargic and closing her eyes A LOT. We are worried about her. Something isn't right. Wow. This was really helpful. I am glad I posted photos! Blackie LOVES to sit in my lap. Here is another photo. I guess we will find him a new home...don't really feel like dealing with fertile eggs and angry neighbors. :( We will miss blackie THE ROOSTER!- 2mefarm
