Great article - tks so much, no egg eater in my flock yet but forever looking for eggs since they are so free range ..... every day feels like Easter

One of my roosters seems to have a problem with his legs. He sits down on his feet. 2 days ago he didn't eat but his appetite came back yesterday :). But he still seems to be weak on his legs.,I picked him up but couldn't find any injuries. Any idea?

Looking forward to that too. But so far I just enjoy how they rediscover being hens. Having dust baths, scratching for food, catching flys, sunbathing and getting a friendly scratch on their backs from me :)

They are red shavers. :)

I am aware of the pecking order. But in my case the hens are not confined at all and have all the space and food they want. I think they made me their willing servant. So far I haven't seen any aggressions. I hope it stays like that :)

They are ex barn hens. So they weren't in a cage but thousands in a barn. They are very sweet and used to humans I think. AND I got my first egg today!

Thanks. Yes I know that's risky to let them merge so quickly. I dose them up with lots of apple cider vinager, good healthy food and pumpkin seeds.Hope it will make them healthy and strong quickly, fingers X

Just got 3 ex barn chickens. Poor things! Not much feathers but very friendly and FREE now! Made friends already with the residential plump chickens. How long does it take till the feathers regrow? I am in the Southern Hemisphere , so it should be summer (still waiting haha) soon. Tks for your...
