    I bought these black copper Marans pullets a few weeks ago. According to the lady I bought them from they are around 20 weeks old today. I need a little gender reassurance since I'm beginning to have some concerns about one of them.

    We may end up doing just that. We are also rural so it's not really of matter of whether or not we can keep them. I would just prefer hens for the eggs. I suppose I have enough room to separate them when I need to and then I can be patient about rehoming them. So this may be a silly question...

    Looks like I only have 2 hens out of the my 8 starter chicks. Bummer, I was really hoping for more hens...but at least they're not all roosters. I think I will keep just one of the roosters and try to get some more hens.
