Unfortunately I have not seen any squatting...I have not been able to be outside with them that much though....one of my speckled sussex has been starting to squat when I pet her.
I am hoping we have an egg from someone soon
Good morning everyone. I am concerned/excited that we might be getting ready to have an egg? Our 21 week old buff orpington is the hen in charge. In the morning when I go out to let them out of their coop and feed and water them she is usually the first one out, all the other chickens follow...
I am looking for either Frizzle eggs or some color of Laced Wyandotte Eggs to hatch. I have looked on EBay and I also checked the forum on backyard chickens but I cannot pay $45 plus shipping for eggs. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not...
I am so glad that this question was posted. I live in Maryland also and today and yesterday have been awful. We are in for it again tomorrow but then Saturday it is suppose to cool off! My girls have plenty of shade and I found them having carved out little nest in the dirt and spreading the...
I would re home the rooster. If he has tried it once he will try it again. I have to say that I would not let my 2 year old around the rooster. I have a 6 year old and I do not even let him around our hens because he scares them with his loud noises and sudden movements. I think that small...
Thanks, it looks like I am going to have to get some eggs, that will be the only way to get a frizzle. I have checked craigslist and I cannot find any in my area.
I really do not want to get eggs because I live in town and we cannot have roosters.... kinda bummed, my chances for a frizzle in...
I am looking for some frizzle Cochin's also, I only want 2! I live on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much!
Congratulations on your soon to be new arrivals!
Hi, Everyone:
I am on the Eastern Shore of Maryland and was wondering if anyone knew of any breeders of frizzle Cochin's or just frizzles. I am looking to add a couple to my backyard flock. Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can send me a message or reply to this thread. Thanks again!
So we set 8 eggs on February 10th and out of the 8 we had 7 hatch. We had:
2 speckled sussex
2 polish
and 3 silkies
They are all adorable, the problem is that I want to try hatching again but we live in the town limits and I can only have 4 chickens, so I do not think setting eggs again...
We had the first egg hatch around 12:30 this morning, and the second around 2:30. Three more eggs have pips and as I type this one is in the process of unzippering, this is so awesome to watch!
So my husband and I set eight eggs for the first time, and last night 2 eggs hatched and we have to chicks running around the incubator! This is so exciting. Besides my children being born I have never seen anything this exciting.
So here I am watching the rest of the eggs because we have 3...
OMG this is driving me nuts, we saw one pip at around 2 this afternoon and I do not think that there has been anything since. I am starting to freak out! This egg hatching is not for patient people.
We have 8 eggs, cochin/frizzle, silkies, speckled sussex and polish. Today is day 21. My husband put the darn incubator on top of a shelf and I have to stand on a chair to see it!
I am so worried that we are going to have to help some hatch and I really do not want to do that!
Ok so this is my first having eggs in an incubator and I just checked on one of them and there is a pip in one of the eggs! What do I do now, when do I take it out of the incubator, OMG I am freaking out!
