Barberville is this weekend, I'll be there in my other disguise with my worms and trying to control my current case of chick fever. I want to get blue egg layers this year.

There are at least 1600 live mealies in a half-pound, that many in a dried quarter. At least, that's my estimate. 200 per ounce There are 50 in and out of the bottle cap in my photo for reference.
I've been itching to start raising these for a while, and I would love to do it outside or my screened porch, BUT, I'm in Florida and am concerned that the summer humidity would be a problem. Thoughts, please?
I like that you do it in one container rather than dividing them as I've seen most do.

We had been in touch with the post office, but no one knew anything.
Apparently, Hoover Hatchery is having a lot of trouble this year, at least...
I am having a similar experience with eFowl right now, even the delayed shipping, but so far, it's been a horrible experience. The hatchery is Hoover, and they substituted Rainbows for Welsummers. They are nothing like Welsummer nor any other, and less expensive. They are not like Easter Eggers...
Well, thank you all very much. More or less verified what I already knew. :-( I hope they all prove to be good layers, because they're costing me $5.60/month each to feed fermented soy-free organic, put me double over the number of birds I'm allowed to have, and are not the breeds I planned to...
Hi,
This is my very first post, though I joined years ago and have quietly lurked.
I am new to chickens, less than a year now, but I dove in head first, and have learned a lot, especially from mistakes, and I really, really enjoy having them. My intent is to have only layers, but had also...
