    Keeping eggs viable

This may be one of those silly questions but can anyone tell me how to keep eggs in viable condition to be able to collect more than one or two for incubation? I want to keep eggs from a certain hen but she only lays every other day. How long will they remain good?

    Easter Egger club!

Our hens don't try to fly much at all. And I would look at Cackle Hatchery in Lebanon Missouri they have good stock and ship every where. That is where we got most of ours.

    Easter Egger club!

First egg is a great thing congrats! I have read that the EE's are crossed with other breeds and not true americauna or oricauna so it is always possible to get eggs of other colors. But ours are all very sweet and good layers anyway.

    Incubating questions

This is sounding really ignorant and I guess that's my case. What exactly do they mean by turn the eggs? The first thought I have is rolling them completely over but I have been looking at automatic turners and what I see is a devise that basically rocks the egg . What is required?
