If anyone in the East Texas area might be interested I have a perfectly operating Ador automatic door for sale. They are currently close to $300 and I will sell it for $150. If you buy the door I will give you five gentle Black Australorp hens about 21/2 years old. 4 plastic waterers. 2...
Since it is warmer I decided to return to restoring some cast iron. Was working on a piece for cornbread sticks and then returned it to the electrolysis vat. Hen started singing so since I had to go by the coop I decided to retrieve the egg. I had a gate latch on the coop door. So I go in and...
Have it around the outside of the run. Use it to keep birds out. Won’t keep anything serious out. I would pull it away from the bottom a little if chickens can stick heads through fence as I have had them snag combs on it and bleed.
Welcome. I have lived in Texas a very long time but grew up in the area. Helped start the first college campus there. A lot of history in your town. Remember when Suffolk was just a small town in Nansemond. Still have a lot of family that live in and around Suffolk. Good luck.
There are several things you can do. I chose sheet linoleum for the floor and poop board because of the ease of installation and price. Got it as a roll end and cheap. Others have used paint products and from their reviews it seems a good option as well. I’m sure some of them will advise.
I have an Australian Shepherd. Have had them for over 30 years. Have had many kinds over my lifetime but will stick with them. If you get one get one that you can see and observe the parents and observe them if possible. They are high energy. Great kid dogs Loyal and possessive. I have 7...
I agree that you could eliminate some of your problem by by assembling your operation in a more central location. I have my coop and run surrounded by cattle panels and the dog pen behind my coop. I lock my dog inside the cattle panel pen at night. She has access to the whole perimeter. Maybe...
I needed to keep water from running off the run onto deck in front of coop door. I cut panels out of PVC equal to low places in tin. Attached to a L shape wooden mount and mounted that to a pvc stand. Used a dryer vent elbow, plastic coffee can and corrugated pipe. All I had on hand.
Finally got hardware cloth up. After painting rafter liked the farmhouse look and didn’t want to cover it so did this inside. Put a drip cap on decking edge so didn’t have to paint it.
