I gave it to her and she looked at me like "What am I supposed to do with that..." then stared at me. I told her that she'll be using a lot more eggs for omelets now!
So today we got our first egg out of our 20ish week old red sex links and I'm wondering if they will get any bigger as they get older. If not my wife is going to kill me... Haha
Here's the egg (on the left) next to a store bought jumbo sized egg.
I have some red sex links that are around 8 weeks old that I just transitioned from their brooder, that was inside, to their coop. They have been outside for a week now, and I've recently noticed that atleast one of them has watery, not solid poop. Is this something I should worry about?
Also...
That's what I'm going to end up doing. Put the nipples at 18" and put some paving bricks and put them in the coop and under it so the chicks can stand on them to drink.
I'm building a coop right now and am at the process where I'm installing the watering system for the chicks. I right I have 6 week old red sex links, and I have their water at about 12" off the ground. I've done some searching and it looks like people suggest setting them at between 18"-22"...
I guess I'm the newest Mississippi member. I live in Gulfport and picked up some red sex links a few weeks ago.
It doesn't seem like to many people on the coast have chickens.
I can try and post some chick pics later. Finals are done, so I need to get to work on the coop and get them outside.
I'll have to check out the "where am I" forum
I'm new to the site and to having chickens. I picked up 6 red sex link pullets last month that are around 4-5 weeks old now. Right now they live in my dogs kennel inside as I put together a coop for them.
Every google search on chickens I do brings me to this site, so I figured I'd go ahead...
