Oh ok didn't know for sure on that was just going by what the breeder I got the hatching eggs from showed and told me, I actually hope she was wrong lol. She said from all the ones she has hatched the light colored ones have been females and the darker ones males. Maybe I'll get lucky and have 2...
They look very similar, so far from what I've heard on facebook groups and other places is that they could be either Tibetan, Rosetta,or British range. Nice to at least get it narrowed down, thanks for your reply!
A few weeks back I purchased some pharaoh quail and I noticed a few of the quail I purchased weren't the same breed. Just wondering if anyone has a clue as to what kind they are so I can gather more info on them, and put them in a different housing. Thanks in advance!
Oh ok thanks for the info did not know that, that sounds good Barred Rock or Dominique hen it is then. I've always had Rhode island reds up until this brood seemed very similar and that explains the red feathers on them!!
I just started raising quail and bought me a few incubators so I'm going to get a black sex link rooster to put in with my layers and don't want to mix them. I would like to get a hen more like him in hopes of getting some good eggs to incubate from both sets since I will have an extra incubator...
Ok thanks any suggestion as to what kind of hen I should get for him? He's a really pretty bird/alarm clock lol, just want to give him some company and definitely don't want to put him in with my flock of 9 Black Sex link. Just any type of game hen or is there a type he looks more like? Thanks...
Got this rooster free a couple of months back he looked kind of rough but I started feeding him MannaPro Gamebird/Showbird food with 24% protein. He now looks and acts much better just wanted to get an idea of what specific breed he is if possible to get him a hen. Thanks in advance!

I've been wondering what would be the best option as to where to set up a incubator; a open room, a closet, a cabinet, etc... Right now I have mine set up in a spare room and was wondering if putting it in the closet or a cabinet would be a better option??
After opening all the vents, pouring out the water from the bottom of the tray, and putting a small fan blowing out of the window in the incubation room, I managed to lower it to 29%. Now I'm going to try only putting water in one of the slots to see if I can get it just a bit higher and in the...
