I wonder if it is breed specific? I have an ameraucana/easter egger who not only laid her first egg at roughly 45 weeks...in the dead of winter, but her eggs are doing the same thing. She is just a year old. Her hatchmate/sister/bff lays beautiful eggs. Wacky birds.
Hi!
Both of my girls started laying this month. My first layer hlgive us great eggs. Her sister, who started about a week or two later, always had little sandy piles of bumps at tops of her eggs. So I switched their food to a 16% layer crumble. Chicky 1. still gives us great eggs. Chicky 2...
Her breathing is so laboured it's heartbreaking. I can't tell if it is gapeworm or CRD. We started tylan 50 today, but I was thinking of also doing a dewormer treatment. We are in day 3. I have also given her electrolyte water with a syringe so I can be sure she is getting fluids. I'll keep you...
She is molting, so I am not sure if she is getting super picked on or not. I thought it best to err on the side caution. We started tylan, and I gave her elecrolytes mixed with vetrx water. Food is being eaten a little, and poo looks normal. Thanks for replying!!
Hi! My molting andalusian starting making weird cat-like noises, and is opening her mouth. Is her airway blocked? Does this sound like a sick bird? She is eating and drinking, but the sun is starting to go down which is whybI think she is inside. Feedback appreciated. Video link attached.
Pics for reference.
My girls were born in January. They free range a couple of hours a day, have access to plenty of food and water, and are happy friendly birds. Now, I know they may not even be ameraucana's, but this is late for any breed. One of my girl's combs just got a little bigger and...
Maybe it's a breed thing?? I have two 6 month old Americauna's that do the same thing. Our Silkie loves it, she cuddles with them too. They eat, drink, walk around and then lay together on the floor of their run in a group.
No, they dont. But they don't backfill their own holes either. Aside from the occasional skunk, they are the biggest culprits around here. And they like the same snacks my ladies do.
