    Makes complete sense to me, we do the same thing with our dogs. I guess being new to the chicken world I didn’t even think of it but I’m definitely going to take your advice and change the way we do things when it’s time to eat :)

    They are very excited when I bring them treats, jumping and toppling over each other to get to me. I will definitely change the way I bring them food from now on and wait til they settle before offering anything. Thanks so much for your advice. He scared me a little!

    I’m so confused. I went out and bought tylan50 and get vetrx just to be on the safe side, planned to start administering today. I removed food from their coop last night and when I went out this morning all crops were emptied basically, nobody looked puffy or “big” in that area. All chickens...

    I’m sorry, you mean in the video where he’s just standing there with his eyes closed? That was the very first time I’ve ever seen him do that and I just so happened to get it in the video. But after that he continued to eat and drink, go after the bread I brought out, etc.

    I do have a video! Let me see if I can figure out how to upload. They have free access to food and water day and night, I just happened to notice yesterday when I brought them some treats and again today when I refilled their food and brought them fresh water.

    He’s completely clear in the face, no discharge anywhere, no bubbling or foul odors of any kind. I don’t see any changes in his comb to indicate swelling or inflimation.     Yes they have grit in there as well. He’s still doing it today. Still no outward signs of any kind of infection, eyes, nose all clear. He definitely sounds wheezy. I picked him and and listened to his chest, I don’t hear anything necessarily phlegmy? but I can hear the wheeze in his chest...

    I noticed today after filling my chickens food up that one chicken in particular was stretching/open mouthed after taking a mouthful and kind of made an outward gasping sound? He has no outward sign of infection, clear eyes, no discharge from nose or mouth. I didn’t notice it at all yesterday...

    I guess I just feel bad I know some people think they’re “just chickens” but I definitely have a soft spot for animals and I wish this set up would have worked out perfectly for us but I think to save them stress and trouble it would be better for all of them to go at once vs leaving the girl...
