Not too sure....it could be she's too young or he may not want to mate. We have a silkie rooster that is a couple years old and I've never seen him mount or even try to. I'm still new to raising chickens so I hope someone can help you out..Good Luck!

I have RIR and white leghorn hens, all 20 weeks old. Some days they all lay an egg and some days a few of them decide they don't want to. I think what your seeing is normal

Wow! That's a big egg! Our hens have laid a lot of double yolkers but none that big. Looks like a triple to me!

Our 19 week old RIR hen is not acting right at all. She has thrown up some green liquid today and isn't her perky self. We planted some blueberry bushes yesterday and she may have gotten into the sulfur soil acidifier that we used on the bushes. Is it possible that she has been poisoned...

One of our silkies has laid 6 eggs and I have yet to see her set on them. How many eggs will they lay before staying put?

Just arrived this morning....2 jersey giant hens and 1 roo! All 1 day old. This is my 1st time getting chicks through the mail but all look healthy and of course adorable! We now have 2 roo's , 11 RIR hens, 4 white leghorn hens and 3 silkie hens! I still want more! Love my chickies!!
