We haven't processed a whole lot of birds for human consumption, but we operate under the 20,000 Producer/Grower exemption. Just to follow up, we're getting eggs again! We increased their feed ration (doubled it, really) and it seems to be doing the trick. I think it was a combination of a couple of things: 1) low feed, 2) molting, 3) no new pasture. For the past 8 months they probably did okay with just an evening... -

What do you mean by blood ring? We're about a week into incubating and candled last night. This is our first time using an automatic turner, and it seemed like a lot of the "stuff" in the egg was more settled towards the bottom (opposite the air sac).
