Chicks, lightning, and fire. Oh my!

My heat lamp broke
Our heat lap blew as soon as I plugged it in . I ended up used a regular light bulb and painted it red that was 3 weeks ago night temps have been as low as upper 60s but most nights they are in the 70s- Adam B

How do I stop this?
I would definitely enclose the top of it. We did it here because of the hawks. And bald eagles. And all the other predators we have in the woods- Adam B

God only knows what they do when I’m at work . I’m thinking about put a lawn chair in the run tomorrow just to see what they have planned- Adam B

Yes they have big plans. Just like tonight I was late turning their light on and all of them were standing at the ramp waiting on me .So they could go in the coop because it was dark- Adam B

My Coop
I’ve been using a red light plugged in since their first night . Now I go out and turn it on about 30 min before dark . And when I go out at night they are already in the coop- Adam B
