Only thing is his umbilical cord is still attached and he's dragging around the egg shell. But otherwise he is all fluffed up this morning and chirping!!
He's here!!! Literally from my last post until now he managed to get out on his own!!!! I was headed down with all my supplies to get the little dude out and there he was ♥️
He is not as active as he was about an hour ago....I was thinking maybe he just needed to rest for a bit? I think if nothing has progressed in the next half hour it's time to help him more!
I did!! Great article and helped a lot! So I did help him as much as I was comfortable. I peeled back the shell and a little membrane from airspace....so now he has his beak poking out. But STILL he is just not making any progress. I'm so nervous to do anymore....but I think I need to
Aww that's great!! Well I can barely contain myself here....this poor little guy has still made no more progress he is alive in there, moving and chirping away but just can't break through! Ughhhhh
I had a mama abandon her very last chick hatching last night. I brought it into the incubator this morning and this is what it looks like. Do I need to intervene in any way? I put a damp paper towel in there. Humidity is at 68. Any help is appreciated!!

Yes, I definitely agree that I need to relax! lol I have been so obsessed with hatching this first batch of eggs, my husband thinks I've gone crazy :) I guess im just a little nervous because that is what happened with my sister in laws eggs...the mama hen killed the babies for whatever reason.
We just had our first hatch this morning!! Im like a kid in a candy store excited! I thought I had read up enough to prepare myself on what and what not to do. But now that the first chick has hatched I was wondering if its fine for the mother to continue to sit on the baby until the others...
