    Soft shelled issue for 11 months, I'm seeing a real problem now....

    Is there a liquid human calcium? One of my Rhode Island Reds is doing the same thing but she has had trama lately, we had a bear attack and she wandered in the woods for days before we found her. But it has been a few weeks now and it just started.

    Injured 1 year old hen

    I have a one year old Rhode Island red that got away from some hawks that took 5 of my other hens. She lost her feathers on her breast area and she seems to have a injured leg. The rest of the flock have not bothered her and she is eating and drinking. How long will it take for her to grow...

    19 and a half weeks old and still no eggs :( egg countdown anyone??

    We have 3 Rhode Island's that have finally started to lay. We got three eggs this week but two of them had red membrane in them so I am not sure if this is a young hen issue.

    After a few of our hens disappeared we now only let them roam about an hour or two before dusk. And we are always home when they are out. We have had red tail hawks go after them.
