Yes there is always calcium on the side.
I just bathed her. cleaned out vent area. Put her in the broody cage with food and water (with ACV and save-a chick electrolyte).
Checked bath water for worms. The only thing I see that could possibly be a worm is this. 6mm long. Thanks

I have 1 out of 8 hens which for some time has layed a egg that breaks into the nest.
She looks mostly healthy, tail up, nice comb. She does have a lack of feathers on neck front and forward of vent. Vent is dirty. Although this has been happening for a while, I have just discovered who is the...
My hens are 4 years old and I've lost most of them.
On all that were sick or died from unknown causes I've done a simple necroscopy to see if I could determine the cause. I pretty much know what it's supposed to look like in the abdomen now.
This morning I had to cull a dying hen and found in...
Are there other reasons for loosing feathers? This one is dropping them steady. None of the other 7 same age are. She looks pretty bad and cold. How long to grow back if this is molting?
Thanks
Aaron
I have one that just in the last week or so lost most of its forward breast feathers and a few higher up the neck. It looks healthy otherwise and is pretty active. 20 months old and the first molt (if that is what this is) I've seen.
Cold time of the year to lose your coat.
I have 5 broody raised chicks that are 9 weeks old. They have been mixing with 8 hens for 4 weeks but still sleep in their separate box with the broody at night. They have been in the coop where the roosts are during the day. I was hoping that mom would bring them to the coop roost but now...
I got 5 chicks that same day and waited till after dark and put them under her. By morning she was a new mom but I worried till I saw them peeping out from her wings.
Now it is going on 1 week and everything is well. I have them in the main coop separated by 1" screen, w/ their own water and...
I have a broody hen that's been on eggs for 4 days but I candled them and see nothing. I think they were cold for too long before she started.
I can locally get some days old chicks and was wondering if putting them under her after she's only been sitting this long will be a problem. I would...
Will the feather loss caused by hard breading regrow w/o doing anything or does it need to be treated/protected. Some are 2 or 3 square inches, the worst is 8 or 9 square inches (3 1/2 " diameter).
The cause has been removed.
Thanks
Aaron
I didn't notice any smaller looking hens and I guess I haven't been picking them up for weight checks lately. May have to start that.
I've included 2 pics, 1 of the hardware found in her gizzard and one of the contents of crop on right and gizzard on left with big stuff removed. You can see...
