    And getting a closer look at it, it seems to have many layers of thick feather coming from one spot. Where it is attached is about the size of a dime or quarter

    No it doesnt and the end of it got cut on the pen and it had bled everywhere

    My rooster has a weird growth on his upper leg/thigh and has cut it open multiple times. We stop the bleeding by dissinfecting it and spraying it with an antiseptic spray and applying pressure for a bit. It doesn't seem to bother him and he doesn't act like it hurts.
