Help my chicken has a weird growth on his leg

My rooster has a weird growth on his upper leg/thigh and has cut it open multiple times. We stop the bleeding by dissinfecting it and spraying it with an antiseptic spray and applying pressure for a bit. It doesn't seem to bother him and he doesn't act like it hurts. He has trouble walking with it because he trips over it but he is still eating fine and drinking plenty. I don't know what it is and haven't been able to find anything similar online. If anyone has an insite or idea of what it is please let me know.

By only watching the photo to me looks like a ball on mud/dirt and feathers. Does it become softer if you soak the thing in warm water?

No it doesnt and the end of it got cut on the pen and it had bled everywhere

This seems similar and it did help. I may call my vet and see how much it would be for them to look at it. Thank you

And getting a closer look at it, it seems to have many layers of thick feather coming from one spot. Where it is attached is about the size of a dime or quarter
