I noticed a couple of days later that it was because I wasnt fulfilling his needs. I usually spend time with him in the mornings and afternoons, but since I was busy for a while he started crowing a lot. Also noticed that he wanted me to feed them their starter with...
Watering the place morning and around 4-5, where there is shade, brings down the temp.
I recommend digging a few feet wide so a few chickens can sit there as well.
I dig around the tree trunks so not only are you providing shade and coolness for your chickens, your also watering your tree...
Something that I do. I dig holes like 1-2 feet down and water it full in mornings and all around. It stays moist throughout the day, not muddy, and the chickens love sitting there, especially if there's shade. Cold and frozen treats like watermelon, strawberries, corn, cherries, etc. Extra water...
I noticed that my cockerel had a change of chirp pitch and it was like him hitting puberty. He's 3 months old now and grew into his new lower chirp. My pullet also grew into a lower pitch, but not as much as the cockerel, she's about 3 months and 2 weeks. That's the only thing I can think of it...
I just put everything down and am hoping he heals quickly. I hate asking questions every now and then but I love how this community helps out very quickly and kindly. Thank you and I will definitely keep on learning!!🤧💕
15 week cockerel. For the past 3 day I noticed that he seems to be hurt whenever he jumps from a foot or more of height. When he jumps onto or off of my lap or a roost, he lifts up and down his feet like he's stomping around for a bit.
I first noticed it when he jumped off a height of 3feet...
He's been crowing since around 6weeks old, but he's been going at it more now. I've noticed that there is a crow perhaps a few blocks away, but we rarely hear it crow.
No other males, just the one.
Why is my cockerel crowing a lot? I read roosters crow around 15 times a day but my cockerel seems to crow double that or even more. Is this normal behavior when they're young? Is it a sign for something going wrong?
He used to crow in the morning, mid day, and sunsets. Now he's been crowing...
I make sure to cut out all the weeds to their roots, that I know are bad for them. I give them corn, watermelon, bookworms, mealworms, flaxseed, sunflower seeds, milo, wheat(comes in a pack all mixed together) and they eat pullet developer from IFA. He's been pooping like this for the past 2...
My roster is now 3 months and it's getting up to mid 90s-100 F where I'm located. Just yesterday I noticed that he pooped diarrhea like and now he's pooping out this white liquid. I have also noticed his comb and wattle seem to have a sort of yellowish orange fade and that he sits down a lot...
