Hi was wanting advice about my chicken run. We have a fully open run and live in N.Ireland where it rains. A lot!!! The ground gets very muddy and wondered was there anything I could put down to help absorb so us and the chickens aren't ankle deep in mud?? We have heard wood chip would be good...
Have no other chicks but definitely agree. It's crazy how fast they've grown and have to say no all that friendly. Tend to nip a bit. Hoping to find someone who's willing to slaughter them here in N. Ireland. Thanks. This sites amazing! !
Ok I've never slaughtered before. Do you snap their necks and do you have to let them hang ?? Sorry but I'm clueless about this. Just hope me n the hubby can do it. I'm a wimp!
Thanks for the replies. We thought they looked like cornish x too. We hoped to be wrong as we took them on as a favour hoping for laying hens. I was told these don't live very long so its more humane to kill them for meat?? It's sad!!
