    This thing with velcro and spandex like material that reduces crow volume but still allows normal vocalisations at lowered volume. It still can eat & drink. Made a DIY one for now

    I can't bear to eat it or perform surgery on it, my hands are extremely shaky. I might try a no crow collar and if that doesn't work I will resort to giving it away.

    Hi, Thanks for the reply. I too think that the second one is male, it is just the lack of crowing and presence of egg clucking that is confusing me (still no eggs though :/) I'll try to get the chickens out of the coop and take some clearer pictures.

    Although the second one does look really like a rooster to me, it has never crowed before (10 months) and is now doing the egg cluck song when the other pullet is not doing it and also hasn't laid an egg. Very confused. Please help?

    To be honest, I do not know what breed the "pullet" is, but I'll post some pictures soon. It has been 10 months and comb growth is really small plus it has not crowed before.     Hi. My smallest chicken suddenly stopped eating or drinking and closed its eyes. On closer inspection, its vent is full of small insects, I think they are mites. Please help, this is my favourite chicken and it is only 5 weeks old, how can I treat it? Thanks

    Chicken crop quite full.

    Well the neighbours have finished their construction so I have access to free construction grit. Their crops are absolutely fine. Just being paranoid.
