    Chick with bloody butt

Well, we are a dog family, so no cat crate (lol, the chicks are in a rigged up big wire dog kennel as a brooder!) so I separated out the chick with the hurt butt and the runt so they both could take it easy for a bit. I used a big ole balikbayan box. Thanks for the info. Rich

I didn't know if I should put this here or in the disease area but decided to put it here. One of my chicks has a bloody butt, what should I do to help?

    Weapons Survey...

Good thread, and thought I know better than to go there-- I just wanted to point out that Trauma centers, though they do see more gunshot wounds than they should, are statistically full of automobile accident victims and even falling victims are larger in number than gunshot victims. This from an educated, meat eating (and for that matter she loves to cook and...

    Why this warning from McMurray:

"These birds are not recommended for raising at altitudes above 5000 feet. THis is the last line in the text for McMurray Jumbo Cornish X Rocks, http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/product/jumbo_cornish_x_rocks.html I was just wondering what effect altitude has on this chicken breed.

Which dog breeds co-exist well with chickens?

Great Discussion! I am just setting up my first try at backyard chickens and I had already decided the biggest mitigating factor was going to be my boxer and my cattle dog super mix. It is the cattle dog I am most worried about. She instigates. The boxer never chased squirrels until after we...

    Saying Howdy

Hey Folks I'm new to this board and to backyard chickens. What I would like to do is learn enough from this board and the others sites I am finding to raise some meat and egg chickens in my backyard. My first question for you is the viability of combining a coop or hutch with more than just...
