My 3 Pet Geese...Sweetness, Fights and Bullying [with pics]

Well, unfortunately we had to sell them as they scared our guests and wouldn't stop bullying the chickens and had a go at my partner. We ended with only 1 female who died as it got egg bound (we weren't there) and the fox had it as it wouldn't leave the pond. The other 2 males we had to sell, I...

Sick ex-broody: no idea what is happening to her! Full crop in morning!

It is her on a particularly bad day: she was too tired looking to do anything, and having a nap in the sun. Most days she walks about.

Sick ex-broody: no idea what is happening to her! Full crop in morning!

We bought this girl from a good farm 2 years ago, and she is top-hen, bullies everyone else but we found out it was because she was an excellent broody (her sister was the same but the fox got her) she s an English county hen, a Dorking, and tried to brood twice last year: the first lot didn't...

Video of Mais, our Buff gander who likes pecking a bit too much!

How very funny! I am glad Mais is not the only one to do his funny head thing. It is so comical to watch!!! I will try the "Ouch!" technique next time he bites a bit too hard, thanks for saying that, Stephie! And it is funny to see how Sugar is so intelligent. Have you had any eggs from them yet?

    Snowy Goose Babies

It is very handy they have those markings, and it makes them more unusual as geese: I had never seen any like those! Ours, they looked so similar I coudln't tell them apart for months, till I realised one of them had an extra toe, and the only difference with the other two was Mais had...

Video of Mais, our Buff gander who likes pecking a bit too much!

He is doing this funny head thing which I have never seen a goose do, in the first video. He only does it to me, has anyone come accross that before?

Video of Mais, our Buff gander who likes pecking a bit too much!

Here is another (please blank out the pretend geese noises) with his 2 pretend ladies who are probably male ganders. This is done today so is from February. I do think he needs a lady... And that lady isn't me!!

My 3 Pet Geese...Sweetness, Fights and Bullying [with pics]

It is funny that you say about Sugar trying to prevent Guardian from pecking at your sister. When the aggressive one was alive, of the same type as Mais, he was being ferocious towards one of us and quite a few times did Mais try to detract him from it, once pulling on his wing and they had a...

    Snowy Goose Babies

Sorry, I had misunderstood the word Babies, i thought for a minute you had young ones - but silly, as it isn't the season yet!!! Don't they look gorgeous! And so nice they have all different markings so it is easy to spot them. Great captions and...how do they react to the cat when he/she is...

My 3 Pet Geese...Sweetness, Fights and Bullying [with pics]

South Devon!! not far at all! I thought most were from USA on the site and never thought to look - nice to know you are near! There are not many geese farms around here, the person who bought the 3d gander from us had 4 female geese (he bought one of them as a gander and she started laying...

    Geese bullying chickens

Thanks for your feedback! Unfortunately the geese have been like this to the chickens all last spring, all summer, all fall and all winter, and now we are getting into mating season and they are as aggressive, not more than ever :) I saw a duck once bully a chicken, it was one of those straight...

    Geese bullying chickens

Hello, We have 3 geese here and to cut the long story short, they started chasing chickens around for no apparent reason. (2 white domestic geese and one Brecon/American buff gander) Is it jealousy? I don't know. I already told our story on another thread (the thread from Stephie, about her...
