Hi everyone. I am thinking about starting a mealworm farm but I'm wondering how beneficial they are to chickens and if I'm already feeding my girls whole corn and layer pellets is it possible to feed them too much protein or will they not eat them if they don't need the protein?
Just wondering how much time should we allow for our seeds to arrive befor we complain on the person that never sent their seeds? I have sent out several seeds but have only gotten them back from one person.
Hi, I have just gotten interested in raising my own meal worms after reading a little about them on the net.
Any suggestions for reading to learn more about this befor I jump into it? Also, any suggestions as to where to buy my first worms once I am ready to start growing them?
WOW! Never heard of a radish that got that big! Don't even like the things but would love to grow them just to see how big they got. DH loves them, can you imagine the look on his face when I pulled that thing out of the garden and told him it was all for him to eat?! lol
Hi everyone! I just discovered this thread since I had 3 BCM eggs hatch this morning! I have never owned/raised any of this breed except for one rooster I hatched 2 years ago and had to sell after he went after my 3yo son. (DH was going to kill him if I did not sell him).
Anyway, what I am...
I got 8 BCM eggs from another BYC member in an egg swap and 3 hatched today!!! I normally never do this but I had to unwrap 2 of them that had gotten shrink wrapped due to low humidity. Anyone have any suggestions where to get a good hydrometer but not real expensive?
Just wanted to share...
They seem fine and I have not noticed any weight loss. Even the ones that looked like they were molting are now looking really pretty.
I have heard of some wormers that did not require that the eggs be tossed. Any idea where I could fine one like that?
