8x30 American Coop (Carolina Coops) build - pix heavy

Mine were hatched April 19th and started laying last week. Man.. I wanted a Carolina Coop so bad. The wait is real though. It looks awesome! Need to plan the year before if you want one... that and the price hurdle. So jealous @John Canfield

Nice lamb! It's amazing the amount of feed some animals can pack down.

    Where to buy feed

I think you can even order off of Amazon now. Depending on where you live, your local Walmart might carry feed and treats. I agree with the others and use Tractor Supply as well as D&B supply

    Anyone have any Coronation Sussex?

I only got chicks this year and I picked up locally, so I can't say whether or not this is a reputable place to get them, but I've seen these on tractor supply's website. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/hoovers-hatchery-coronation-sussex I thought they looked pretty. Slight blue...

Pullet ate fingertip of nitrile glove... now what?

Update: so far so good. Maple has been continuing to eat and jump around. No lethargy. I forgot to say, thanks for the reply, Wyorp Rock. I read my email notification and was surprised I received such a prompt reply. It totally made me feel better.

Pullet ate fingertip of nitrile glove... now what?

What happened? I had just finished my normal emptying/refilling waterer, refilling food, checking they have grit, moving around wood shaving bedding, etc. When, after finishing the bit of clover I had snipped for them in the yard.. My favorite pullet (an ameraucana), walked over and looked up at...

    Poop and Plants Questions

When chicks were a week old, I started on plain water. The 1 gallon of water I originally used lasted the 6 days I had them. Refilled with plain filtered water. Haven't added any supplements to their water per Rosemarythyme's reply/advice. Thanks for the info, U_Stormcrow. Good to know about the...

    My CarolinaCoop-inspired Coop

Seriously, your coop came out amazing. Do you remember what you used for the siding of the hen house?

    Poop and Plants Questions

I started on plain water yesterday, room temperature. The electrolyte water I had was all the same gallon pitcher. I stopped completely filling up the water dispenser since I was tossing a lot of it at the end of the night since there was poop in the chick waterer. Yes, they've had chick grit...
